Softball Ontario wants to help you celebrate World Softball Day on June 13, 2009! |
| Posted by Lisa Crompton, Participation Program Coordinator on May 26 2009 |
Does your Softball Association have games, tournaments, clinics or photo days scheduled for the weekend of June 12 -14, 2009? Would you like to support the International Softball Federation’s BackSoftball Campaign, and celebrate World Softball Day? Softball Ontario wants to help you celebrate!
Declared by the International Softball Federation (ISF) in 2005 to coincide with the date that the International Olympic Committee announced that Softball would be included in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, World Softball Day is now celebrated world-wide. In advance of World Softball Day 2009, Softball Ontario is making preparations to help Softball Associations across Ontario celebrate our sport.
Softball Ontario would like to know how YOUR Softball Association plans to mark World Softball Day with festivities from June 12-14, 2009. Whether you are holding games, tournaments, clinics or your league photo day, Softball Ontario wants to know about it!
To help in your celebrations, Softball Ontario will not only help publicize your event on the Play Softball web site (www.playsoftball.ca) and event calendar, but we will also provide your Association with free softball tattoos to help mark the occasion. In order to receive your free softball tattoos, please send your event details and contact information to lcrompton@softballontario.ca no later than Monday, June 8, 2009. Event details must contain:
- Softball Association Name
- Date & Location of Event
- Explanation of the Event
- Contact Person Name
- Mailing Address
In addition, Softball Associations who provide Softball Ontario with a post-event write-up (and photos when available), will be featured in a write-up on the Play Softball web site and their article will be forwarded to Softball Canada for inclusion on www.softball.ca and possible inclusion in the ISF’s World Softball Magazine.
Take advantage of this great opportunity to publicize your Softball Association and help support the BackSoftball Campaign to get Softball reinstated as an Olympic Sport by contacting Lisa Crompton by email at lcrompton@softballontario.ca or by phone at 416-426-7150. Let’s celebrate Softball together!
