Head Coach

Softball Canada is pleased to extend an invitation to interested candidates to apply for the position of Head Coach of our Senior Men’s National Team (SMNT).

A job description for the Head Coach position SMNT is at www.softball.ca . In addition to the traditional responsibilities, the Head Coach will work in collaboration with the Operations Manager - National Teams and the Men’s National Team Committee in designing and implementing a multi-faceted high performance program.

The ideal candidate will be certified at Level 4 or higher under the National Coaching Certification Program (or the equivalent in the new NCCP – Competition High Performance certified), or have the equivalent experience and training. Experience coaching and/or playing at a high caliber international level is an asset. Coaches who are certified at Level 3 may apply providing they ultimately enroll in the Level 4 program, if they are the successful candidate.

Key attributes will be:

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with players and other staff members
  • Demonstrated vision and expertise in the development of annualized planning
  • Leadership skills
  • Familiarity with cutting edge softball specific strategies and sport science innovations to maximize performance
