FINAL REMINDER FOR S.A.F.E. AWARD APPLICATION DEADLINE |

The deadline for your Softball Association to submit your application to win a S.A.F.E. Star Award is tomorrow – March 31, 2010. Make sure you take advantage of the opportunity to win $500 towards one of four volunteer training workshops and clinics to expand the volunteer capacity of your Softball Association.
What is a S.A.F.E. Award?
With the help of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Softball Ontario is providing twenty (20) Softball Association Fundamental Excellence Award of $500 for Softball Associations to use in one of four (4) categories:
- Volunteer Development
- Awards can be used towards holding one of Softball Ontario’s Certified Softball Administrator Program Workshops to help train members of your Board of Directors or Executive Committee
- Awards can be used towards holding one of Softball Ontario’s Certified Softball Administrator Program Workshops to help train members of your Board of Directors or Executive Committee
- Community Coach Development
- Awards can be used towards hosting a ‘Learn to Coach’ NCCP Clinic or a ‘Keep Coaching’ NCCP Clinic
- Awards can be used towards hosting a ‘Learn to Coach’ NCCP Clinic or a ‘Keep Coaching’ NCCP Clinic
- Competitive Coach Development
- Awards can be used towards hosting a ‘Competition – Introduction, Softball’ NCCP Clinic (‘What to Coach’ or ‘How to Coach’)
- Awards can be used towards hosting a ‘Competition – Introduction, Softball’ NCCP Clinic (‘What to Coach’ or ‘How to Coach’)
- Umpire Development
- Awards can be used towards hosting a Junior Development, Intermediate Development, or Level 1 Umpire Clinic
The Awards will help your Softball Association to train volunteers for the 2010 softball season, thereby increasing your volunteer capacity and the quality of your programs.
If your Softball Association receives a S.A.F.E. Award, you will also receive a special logo in recognition of your achievement that you can display proudly on your web site to show your players your commitment to excellence. In addition, the S.A.F.E. Award will help your Softball Association to work towards receiving your S.A.F.E. Star Rating!
How do I apply for a S.A.F.E. Award?
There are only two (2) steps to applying for a S.A.F.E. Award:
- Step 1: Become a member of the Play Softball Network
- It’s free and easy to join! Contact Lisa Crompton at lcrompton@softballontario.ca or call 416-426-7150 for details.
- Download the Play Softball Network Application Form
- Step 2: Complete the S.A.F.E. Award Application Form and send it to the Softball Ontario Office
- To qualify you must submit your Application Form by March 31, 2010
