| Volunteer Opportunity for Special Olympics Regional Softball Tournament | |||||||
Special Olympics Ontario is looking for five (5) volunteers to act as advisors at their upcoming Regional Softball Tournament on August 28, 2010 at Coronation Park in Toronto. Advisors can be coaches, players, or former players, should have a good knowledge of the game of softball, and should be able to answer technical questions about the game. The tournament will feature teams from across the region playing slo-pitch softball. If you are interested in helping Special Olympics Ontario with their Regional Softball Tournament, please email Pratima Bhatt, District Developer for Special Olympics Toronto, at PratimaB@specialolympicsontario.com or call her at 416-447-8326 extension 232. |

The Don Victoria Softball League, operating in the Don Mills area of Toronto, has experienced a growth of over 50% in youth softball registrations this year. As a result, the league's volunteer executive are looking to hire an additional 5-9 umpires to meet the demand for games in the season. Umpires are paid $20 per game and training is available through the league's pre-arranged combined Junior Development / Intermediate Umpire Clinic to be held on April 18th in Scarborough.
